Kenya & Tanzania

Seven days hopping between the 3 Bushtops Camps Of Mara Bushtops Camp, Roving Bushtops & Serengeti Bushtops

This is the perfect option for anyone wanting to experience as much of the Masai Mara and the Serengeti as possible by hopping between all three camps. It entails two nights in each of our three camps: Mara Bushtops Campin Kenya and both Serengeti Bushtops and Roving Bushtops in Tanzania. As with all our ‘hopping’ itineraries, guests can extend their stays, perhaps with an extra day in Mara Bushtops to enjoy the Spa facilities, or more time wherever the game is most abundant for the time of year.
The visit can take place in any order, but for the sake of simplicity we have assumed you start in Kenya, at Mara Bushtops.

Day One

Day one sees you arriving, via your airstrip pick up, at Mara Bushtops, where a relaxed lunch is followed by a chance to get your bearings and explore your surroundings. This is where a visit to the Spa for a massage or swim, or time spent watching animals at the saltlick, turns you from traveller to utterly relaxed master or mistress of all you survey. You can then explore the flora and fauna in our private Conservancy, which surrounds the camp, before a sundowner. Then comes a rather unusual highlight – a night drive before dinner, where infra-red cameras and the discreet use of night lighting opens up a whole new world of wildlife.

Day Two

Your second day reveals the Masai Mara, as you spend the entire day exploring its exotic sights, sounds and sensations. A buffet lunch divides a day in which the world’s finest wildlife spectacles play out before your eyes. As you head for home, you relay your drinks order to your driver, who radios ahead to ensure these are lined up alongside the foaming bubbles of your private hot tub. Having whetted your appetite for extraordinary experiences, you might discuss adding a balloon flight to your itinerary, later in your stay.

Day Three

On day three, you rise early, for an early morning game drive in the Mara or a walking safari and Bush breakfast in our Conservancy. Then you head to the airstrip for your short flight to Migori where you are transferred across the border at Isabenia to the Tarime airstrip. After a short flight to Kogatende you are greeted by your Serengeti Bushtops guide and spotter. Each points out the unique flora, fauna and features of your new surroundings, as you head for your new destination. After a picnic lunch en route, you arrive in the late afternoon, before spending the afternoon at leisure.

Day Four

You may decide to start day four before sunrise, having booked a balloon flight. If not, you might prefer a lie-in and leisurely breakfast. Whichever your choice, after breakfast you get to spend the whole day in the Serengeti National Park. You follow a course recommended by your guide, based on where the wildlife is most prolific. You stop only for a buffet lunch under a sheltering tree, before heading back in the late evening for a soothing hot tub and the expectations of another sumptuous evening’s wining and dining.

Day Five

Day five sees you head to Kogatende and the short flight to Seronara. You are now in complete control of your agenda and destiny. Advised by your ranger, and equipped with your own dedicated vehicle, you can follow his recommendations or your intuitions, choosing where to explore, and when. Your ranger will be able to help you plan, suggesting where the game viewing is best at the time of year. This may see you head for Ndutu or the Western Corridor, or stay in the central Serengeti to catch the migration.

Day Six

Once again, on day six you do what you want, when you want. You might want to lie in, and relax. You could choose an early morning game drive and Bush breakfast followed by a return to camp for lunch and a restful afternoon, followed by an evening drive. Alternatively you could spend the entire day in the Bush, with a picnic lunch. Either way, we will turn your preferences into unforgettable reality.

Day Seven

Then comes the inevitability of a return home, as the sun rises on day seven (unless of course you have chosen to extend your stay). The game viewing is far from over, however, since your last game drive of the holiday takes place during the transfer to Seronera. From here, you fly home via Arusha, Kilimanjaro or perhaps Zanzibar, having experienced a packed yet blissfully relaxing week.

And as you return home, you do so in the knowledge that you have seen the very best of Africa, in the most welcoming of camps – three times over!
